Crusader Castles
Beaufort:
Templar Castle which fell to Baybars (1268).
It was formerly owned by Julian of Sidon, who was forced to sell his Lordship (1260).
The castle consisted of an upper and lower part, and was protected by a rock fosse. Its elevated position had commanding views of the Beka Valley in southern Lebanon.
