Crusader Castles

Castle in Lordship of Ahamant (Amman) held by Philip of Milly, Lord of Oultrejordain and Nablus. Given to Templars by Philip when he joined the Order (January 1166). Held out after Frankish defeat at Hattin (July 1187).

"For my part, I adhere to the maxim of antiquity: The throne is a glorious sepulchre."
